Spring Break kicks off with Lessons on Character
Spring break began today, and that means students were treated to a change from regular daily school activities.
No, they didn’t get to jet off to Mexico to visit their Nana or head to California to enjoy the beach. Even, so, they seemed to enjoy a break from routine.
That’s because Instead of reporting to their assigned teachers and classrooms, members of each living unit attended school together–and for just a couple of hours.
The change of pace offered the opportunity to review the Six Pillars of Character. First, students had the chance to define them in their own terms. Then we discussed them as defined by Character Counts after watching “Got Character on YouTube.com.

Finally, students paired up or worked in groups to create visuals representing what each of the six pillars of character mean to them.
